Providing care and reducing costs of incarceration

Inmate populations have severe barriers to accessing health care and are often some of the sickest populations. At CHC/SEK Correctional Health, we work with area jails to provide healthcare services to incarcerated men and women. Treating inmates for chronic disease, substance abuse, depression, and behavioral health disorders helps reduce their likelihood of cycling back into the corrections system.

Providing compassionate care during incarceration protects the overall jail population, maintains the individual inmate’s health and self-worth, helps prepare them to lead productive lives after incarceration, and results in cost-savings to society.

Correctional Health services are available in Bourbon, Cherokee, Labette, Linn, and Wilson counties.
