HIV Symposium keynote speaker is Jeaneen Pointer, executive director of Hope Strategies within the Lynn Institute.
This year’s HIV symposium keynote speaker will focus on the strength of hope.
“In more than 2,500 research studies, Hope has been identified as one of the strongest predictors of success and well-being,” Jeaneen said. “The Science of Hope is changing and improving physical and mental health outcomes, organizational policies, processes and productivity, student learning and school experiences, and communities at the grassroots level. This important science touches every aspect of our lives and helps to identify pathways for transformation.”
Jeaneen’s presentation, “The Strength of Hope,” explores the profound implications of integrating the Science of Hope into patient care. Drawing from the book, “Hope Rising: How the Science of Hope Can Change Your Life,” written by Casey Gwinn, J.D. and Chan Hellman, Ph.D., Jeaneen’s talk emphasizes the transformative power of hope in driving meaningful change, inspiring hope and optimism in her audience.
The symposium, in partnership with the University of Kansas Medical Center, will be from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at the John Parolo Education Center, 3015 N. Michigan, Pittsburg. Registration is available online at https://bit.ly/3LE5TAo. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required by Sept. 6. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available.
This symposium is for all levels of staff within healthcare, public health, behavioral health, pharmacy, higher education, and community health workers. Students are welcome.
Presentations will spotlight destigmatizing HIV and the larger impact of the CHC/SEK’s collective efforts toward ending the HIV epidemic. Together, participants can continue to champion progress, foster hope, and work towards a future free from stigma and HIV transmission.
