Healthcare providers can have a role in supporting opioid risk mitigation strategies. That’s why Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, in partnership with the University of Kansas Medical Center, is hosting a free online conference titled “Coprescribe to Save a Life” on Sept. 27.
The conference will be from noon to 1 p.m. and is for all prescribing providers. Interested participants can register online here.
CHC/SEK Vice President of Behavioral Services Kansas Eric Thomason, PMHNP, will provide information on support for prescribing opioid overdose reversal medications.
Topics will include improving the understanding of opioid use history in the United States, improving the understanding of pharmacodynamics properties of opioids, and recognizing the role of the healthcare provider and/or healthcare team in supporting opioid overdose risk mitigation strategies.
Continuing Education credit will be provided.
