Learning Experiences: Education, Patient Care, Pharmacy Practice, Professional Development

As a Pittsburg native, Megan is committed to serving the southeast Kansas community. Inspired by the impact her father had on his patients, Megan pursued pharmacy and earned her undergraduate degree from Pittsburg State University in 2013 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas in 2015.
Megan is dedicated to pharmacy education and developing pharmacists into clinically skilled and compassionate professionals. Her approach to resident growth includes structured mentorship, consistent feedback, and continuous support.

In addition to being the Pharmacy Residency Program Director, Megan is the Onboarding Pharmacy Specialist at CHC/SEK. In this role, she oversees the training and development of new pharmacy staff and helps ensure that patient care remains the team’s top priority. Outside of work, Megan loves spending time with her family, whether it’s a game of pickleball, a round of Mario Kart, or cheering on her kids in their many activities.

“Our residency program is intended not only to develop confident and knowledgeable pharmacists, but also to shape professionals dedicated to improving the health of all patients, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. Residents have the opportunity to make a difference every day while building the skills needed to excel in any community-based setting.”

Luke Bolton, PharmD

Pharmacist

Learning Experience: Pharmacy Practice

Luke grew up in Fort Scott, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas where he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry prior to attending the KU School of Pharmacy. Luke graduated from pharmacy school in 2011 and soon after moved back to Pittsburg where he has practiced community pharmacy since.

Luke enjoys the opportunity to become a resource for the surrounding communities. He enjoys the prospect of working one-on-one with patients and to provide exemplary services that alleviate much of the stress involved with specialty medications. In his spare time, Luke enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing games and doing puzzles.

“I feel very blessed to be employed by an organization that prioritizes patient care first and foremost. To have the ability to work alongside an experienced and dedicated team makes my work that much more rewarding. Working for CHC provides me with a sense of pride and an opportunity to provide a unique service to our patients. By facilitating patient care, we aspire to become a major contributor to the improvement of healthcare in not only Pittsburg, but the surrounding four state area.”

Jean Holt, PharmD

Pharmacist

Learning Experiences: Patient Care, Pharmacy Practice

Originally from Cherokee, Kansas, Jean comes from a long family tradition of pharmacists. She completed her pre-pharmacy studies at Pittsburg State University and earned her PharmD from the University of Kansas in 2000. Jean has always valued living and working in the community where she grew up and is proud to serve the patients she knows and loves.

With many years of practice behind her, Jean is eager to share her knowledge by helping train the next generation of pharmacists. She enjoys showing learners new perspectives on patient care beyond traditional retail practice—encouraging them to think creatively, minimize medication-related side effects, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to achieve comprehensive, patient-centered care. In her personal time, Jean enjoys cooking for her family, spending quality time with her grandchildren, and reading.

“I’ve always known I wanted to be a pharmacist because serving others is at the core of who I am. I feel fortunate to have a career that allows me to live that out every day. At CHC, our pharmacies are designed around patient care rather than profit, which allows me the time to answer questions, provide counseling, and build relationships. With the many programs and resources available, we are able to remove barriers, meet patients where they are, and help them achieve better health.”

“Our residency program provides many unique experiences for residents. Along with building their skills in a traditional community pharmacy role, residents get an introduction to an administrative role in pharmacy, have in depth exposure to the 340B program and develop their clinical skills working alongside both our Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager and Specialty Pharmacy Manager. Residents also have additional opportunities to engage in teaching, research, and community outreach.”
