Q. What happens if I miss an appointment?
A. It is important that you make every effort to keep your appointment. Time has been reserved for you and failure to keep an appointment costs CHC/SEK both time and money – not to mention someone else may not have been able to get in because all slots were filled. We ask that you call the clinic as soon as you know you will not be able to keep your appointment so we can reschedule your visit and free up your appointment time for another patient to be seen. If you miss multiple appointments without notifying us you may no longer be allowed to make appointments in advance.

Q. What happens if I’m late to an appointment?
A. We understand that unexpected delays do occur and we would ask that you call us to let us know that you’re going to be late for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, others who have arrived on time may be taken ahead of you. There may be a need – depending on how long you’re delayed – to ask that you reschedule your appointment.

Q. Can I choose a CHC/SEK dentist to be my regular dentist or do you only take emergencies?
A. We provide ongoing, comprehensive dental care to children ages 0-18 years old. Adults with an emergency are seen by the first available dentist. Adults who qualify can receive comprehensive ongoing care through the Adult Dental Program. An application is required and space is limited.

Q. Can I still receive dental or mental health care, even if I am not a CHC/SEK medical patient?
A. Yes, you do not need to be a medical patient to receive dental or mental health services. However, we encourage you to establish CHC/SEK as your health care home to ensure care is coordinated by providers working together on your behalf.

Q. Can I use the CHC/SEK pharmacy for a prescription written by a CHC/SEK dentist?
A. Yes, you can use the CHC/SEK pharmacy for any prescription written by a CHC/SEK provider.

Q. What if I have a medical or dental emergency or need care after hours?
A. For urgent care, after hours and on weekends, patients of CHC/SEK should call 620-231-9873 and follow the directions provided to access care. For emergencies, go immediately to the closest Emergency Department.
