Pharmacy
Pharmacy services are a vital part of providing quality health care. For the medically underserved, appointments with a medical, dental or mental health provider are only one part of the health care equation. Access to low-cost or no-cost pharmaceuticals completes the treatment relationship.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, CHC/SEK participates in the Federal 340B discount drug pricing program. CHC/SEK is then able to pass the tremendous cost savings on to its patients. A broad range of medications are available through the program from routine antibiotics to specialized psychotropics and HIV treatment.
The Pittsburg clinic features an on-site full-service pharmacy with two staff pharmacists. In Columbus, CHC/SEK maintains a collaborative relationship with a full-service pharmacy connected to the clinic. The pharmacies are available to all patients of CHC/SEK regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
CHC/SEK staff also help patients with enrollment in prescription assistance programs offered by drug manufacturers. The programs are ideal for low-income uninsured patients prescribed long-term maintenance medications. Examples include but are not limited to treatment for hypertension, diabetes and asthma. Once deemed eligible, patients receive prescriptions at no cost direct from the pharmaceutical companies.
Pharmacy services are growing at a dramatic rate as the patient population of CHC/SEK expands. Patients and providers alike appreciate the convenient, affordable options.
